Anne Gomm Style London Delft Plate

A colourful "Anne Gomm" style delft plate. Probably London, Lambeth High Street. ca. mid to late 18th Century. Though this pattern is commonly referred to as the "Anne Gomm" pattern, other examples with names are known to exist. The identity of Anne Gomm has not been established. Gomm is a relatively uncommon name. An Anne Gomm was married to Robert Jones in St. Marylebone Church in 1797 though no further information is available. Ref. Britton, Frank.
